Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are able to understand written information and are willing to sign a written consent form to participate
  • People who are at least 18 years old at the time of signing the consent form
  • People who have been receiving hemodialysis (kidney dialysis) either three times per week, or five times every two weeks, for at least three months
  • People whose dialysis fluid contains a calcium concentration of at least 1.25 mmol/L

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with Primary Hyperparathyroidism (an overactive parathyroid gland caused by a problem with the parathyroid gland itself, rather than kidney disease)
  • People who are unwilling to stop taking certain medications called calcimimetics (such as cinacalcet or etelcalcetide) during the study
  • People who have used a type of medication called a RANKL inhibitor (such as denosumab) within the 6 months before the screening visit
  • People who have been diagnosed with gastrointestinal (stomach or bowel) bleeding within the 6 months before the screening visit
  • People with severely uncontrolled high blood pressure (a reading above 180/110 mmHg) that has not been controlled despite appropriate medication
  • People who have had surgery to remove their parathyroid glands within the 6 months before screening, or who are planning to have that surgery during the study
  • People who are allergic or sensitive to any ingredient in the study drug
  • People who have had epileptic seizures, or who are currently receiving treatment for epilepsy, within the 1 year before screening
