Who might be able to join this trial:

If you have Multiple Sclerosis:

  • You have been told by a doctor that you have multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You can communicate in English
  • You are able to give your agreement to take part after being informed about the study
  • You are able to manage up to three hours of testing with breaks in between
  • You are able to walk about 65 feet (20 meters) with or without a walking aid, without needing to stop and rest

If you are a Healthy Control (no MS):

  • You can communicate in English
  • You are able to give your agreement to take part after being informed about the study
  • You are a close physical match to a participant with MS in terms of age (within 7 years), height (within 5 inches), weight (within 20 pounds), and sex

Who may not be able to join:

If you have Multiple Sclerosis:

  • Your MS symptoms have gotten significantly worse in the past two months
  • You have another nervous system condition, such as a head injury, stroke, or Parkinson's disease
  • You have pain that could be made worse by small, sudden movements or pushes while standing

If you are a Healthy Control:

  • You have any known medical diagnoses (confirm with trial site)
  • You currently have pain that could affect your balance
