Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of cancer in the back of the nose/throat) at a certain stage (Stage IB to IVA), and your cancer has tested positive for a virus called Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)
- Your doctors are planning to treat you with chemotherapy before radiation, or with chemotherapy and radiation together
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are willing and able to follow all the steps and procedures required by the trial
- You have signed a form agreeing to take part (informed consent)
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you have had a negative pregnancy test before joining
- You either have stored tumor tissue available from a previous biopsy, or you agree to have a new tumor biopsy done
Who may not be able to join:
- You have already received chemotherapy or radiation treatment for this type of cancer
- You have taken part in another clinical trial or received an experimental treatment within the last 28 days
- You have another serious illness, condition, or abnormal test result that could affect the trial results or put you at higher risk of complications (confirm with trial site)
- You have a condition affecting your mental health or thinking that would prevent you from fully understanding and agreeing to take part
- You are unable to lie flat on your back for 25 minutes
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
