Who may not be able to join:

- People with alcohol or drug addiction
- People with a condition that affects memory or thinking, such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- People taking medications that may affect the body's ability to regulate temperature
- People who find wearing heat socks uncomfortable during the procedure
- People with any condition that affects blood flow to the body's tissues
- People with any disease affecting the arteries or veins in the limbs (peripheral arterial or venous disease)
- People who require intensive care before or after surgery
