Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are able to give informed consent (as measured by a specific assessment tool), speak English, are female veterans, and are 18 years of age or older
• People who screen positive for exposure to intimate partner violence (IPV) and/or military sexual trauma (MST) using standard VA screening tools
• People who have a history of at least one brain injury, assessed using a specific screening questionnaire
• People who have some PTSD symptoms that fall below the full diagnostic threshold, measured as a score above 33 on a standard PTSD checklist
• People who report difficulties managing their emotions, measured as a score at least half a standard deviation above published averages on a standard scale

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are assessed as being at high risk for suicide based on specific responses on a standard suicide risk rating scale
• People who show signs of active psychosis, such as hearing voices or having strong false beliefs about themselves
• People whose substance use (alcohol, smoking, or other substances) scores above 27 on a standard screening test — though these individuals may be referred to a substance use program, and continued participation in the trial may still be considered in collaboration with that program (confirm with trial site)
