Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are military veterans and are 18 years of age or older
- People who have a current diagnosis of PTSD, confirmed using a specific clinical assessment tool called the CAPS-5-R
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, which is the medical threshold for obesity
- People who are enrolled in primary care at VA Puget Sound
- People who are willing to take part in either the active program or the comparison group, and to complete study assessments

- People who have recently taken part in the VA's MOVE! weight management program or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), specifically attending 2 or more visits in the past 2 months
- People who have had weight-loss (bariatric) surgery in the past 6 months, or who are planning to have it within the next 12 months
- People who have filled a prescription for anti-obesity medication at least once in the past 90 days
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who have ever been diagnosed with bulimia, or who currently meet the clinical criteria for it
- People whose ability to participate is affected by an active or severe substance use issue, a mental health crisis, a serious medical flare-up, or a significant neurological condition such as dementia
- People whose current weight is 600 pounds or more, due to the limits of the study's equipment
- People who are unable to have their height and weight measured while standing, due to the limits of the study's equipment
