Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have given their voluntary written consent to participate
- People aged 18 years or older
- People whose doctors expect them to live for at least 3 months
- People who are generally able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (measured by a standard cancer performance scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
- People who have been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) — either limited or extensive stage — confirmed by a laboratory tissue or cell sample, and who have not yet received any treatment for it

Who may not be able to join:
- People whose tumour samples show cancer types other than pure small cell lung cancer, such as non-small cell lung cancer or a mixed type
- People whose doctor determines that taking a blood sample from a vein would not be safe due to other health complications (confirm with trial site)
- People who have an active or suspected autoimmune disease — though some conditions such as vitiligo, type 1 diabetes, and certain thyroid conditions managed with hormone replacement may still be considered eligible (confirm with trial site)
- People with an active tuberculosis (TB) infection, or a history of active TB in the past year even if treated, or a history of TB more than one year ago unless it can be shown that previous treatment was fully effective
- People who need to take immunosuppressive medications, or who require steroids at doses that suppress the immune system
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have HIV, active hepatitis B, or hepatitis C infection (based on specific laboratory test results)
- People with a history of serious neurological or psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to dementia, depression, seizures, or bipolar disorder
- People who have already received any cancer treatment before the blood sample is collected
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past, with some exceptions such as certain skin cancers and some early-stage cancers in specific locations (confirm with trial site for details)
- People who have received a live vaccine within 28 days before the blood sample collection
