Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 65 years old
- People who have a small thyroid cancer (no larger than 1.5 cm) on the dominant side of the thyroid that is suitable for removal using an endoscopic (camera-guided) procedure
- People who have a small nodule (no larger than 7 mm) on the opposite side of the thyroid, located at least 2 mm away from the back of the thyroid gland
- People who have no signs of cancer spread to lymph nodes on the opposite side of the thyroid, based on imaging results
- People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has grown outside the thyroid gland, or who have known spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body
- People who have previously had neck surgery, a procedure called radiofrequency ablation (RFA) or ethanol injection to the thyroid, or radiation treatment to the neck area
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have serious health conditions that would make it unsafe to undergo anaesthesia or to attend follow-up appointments
