Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are willing and able to give your informed consent to take part in the trial
• Your kidney cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) and is a specific type called clear-cell or sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma
• Your cancer is at a certain stage or spread, as determined by your medical team after surgery (confirm with trial site for exact staging details)
• You have never had immunotherapy treatment for your kidney cancer before
• You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site)
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are of any ethnic or racial background
• Your kidneys and liver are functioning well enough, based on standard blood tests
• Your bone marrow is producing enough blood cells, based on standard blood tests
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, or the female partner of a male participant, you must agree to use a reliable form of contraception during treatment and for at least 5 months after the last dose

Who may not be able to join:

• You have previously had radiation therapy or certain immunotherapy drugs (anti-PD1, anti-PDL1, or anti-CTLA-4) for kidney cancer
• You have an active or recent autoimmune disease, or have needed steroid or immune-suppressing medications for such a condition (some exceptions may apply — confirm with trial site)
• You have active lung inflammation (such as a condition called pneumonitis) or have had it in the past and needed steroid treatment
• Your blood oxygen level is below 92% while breathing normal room air
• You are currently using or plan to use probiotics, prebiotics, yogurt, bacteria-enriched foods, or similar supplements within 2 weeks before or during treatment
• You are currently taking steroid medications above a certain dose, or other immune-suppressing medicines, within 14 days before starting the trial (some exceptions may apply — confirm with trial site)
• You have uncontrolled adrenal gland problems
• You have a medical condition — such as ongoing diarrhoea or a bowel condition — that the trial doctor believes could make participation unsafe or affect results
• You still have significant side effects from any previous treatment that have not yet resolved
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have a history of heart muscle inflammation, serious heart failure, unstable chest pain, serious uncontrolled heart rhythm problems, uncontrolled infection, or a heart attack within the past 6 months
