Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You are willing and able to give your agreement to take part in the study, both in writing and verbally
  • You have a thyroid nodule that is overactive, underactive, or functioning normally
  • You have been referred for thyroid surgery because a nodule is suspected to possibly be cancerous (including certain biopsy result categories known as Bethesda III, IV, V, or VI — confirm with trial site if unsure which category applies to you)
  • Healthy volunteers may also be eligible if they are generally in good health with no long-term illnesses

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently pregnant
  • You are unable to take part in the examination due to physical or mental health limitations
  • You do not wish to be told about any new or important health findings that might be discovered during the study
  • Healthy volunteers may not be eligible if they have or have ever had any thyroid condition, including thyroid nodules
  • Healthy volunteers may not be eligible if they are currently taking any medication that affects how the thyroid works
