Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been confirmed through a biopsy or cell sample test to have non-small cell lung cancer, with no specific gene mutations (called "driver gene mutations") found in their tumour.
- People aged 65 years or older, male or female.
- People who have not yet received any first-line (initial) treatment for their cancer.
- People who are reasonably functional in daily life, as measured by a standard health scoring system (KPS score of 70 or above, or ECOG score of 0–1), and whose doctors expect them to survive at least 3 more months.
- People whose major organs are working adequately, with blood test results meeting all of the following:
- White blood cell count of at least 3.5 × 10⁹/L, neutrophil count of at least 1.5 × 10⁹/L, and platelet count of at least 80 × 10⁹/L.
- Liver-related blood markers within acceptable ranges (specific limits apply, and stricter limits apply if cancer has spread to the liver — confirm with trial site).
- Kidney function marker (creatinine) no more than 1.5 times the upper limit of the normal range.
- Heart pumping function (left ventricular ejection fraction) above 50%.
- People who are willing and able to attend follow-up appointments and cooperate with the study requirements.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received treatment for their lung cancer.
