Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are an adult aged 18 or older who has been diagnosed with a prolactinoma (a type of benign tumour on the pituitary gland) that is causing high prolactin hormone levels in your blood
- Your prolactin levels are at least twice the upper limit of what your local lab considers normal, confirmed by both blood tests and imaging scans, following current medical guidelines
- You are currently being treated with a medication called cabergoline and your prolactin levels have returned to the normal range
Who may not be able to join:
- Your high prolactin levels are caused by something other than a prolactinoma
- You have had a substance use problem (such as alcohol or drugs) in the last six months
- You have a current or past history of a psychotic disorder (such as schizophrenia)
- You are currently pregnant, or have been breastfeeding in the last 8 weeks
- You have serious liver problems or a bile flow blockage (confirm with trial site)
- You have serious kidney problems where your kidneys are working at a low level (confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of scarring or thickening of tissue in the lungs, around the heart, or in the abdomen (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently taking certain medications that strongly or moderately affect how the body breaks down drugs (confirm with trial site)
- Your tumour is causing complications that doctors believe require surgery, or you personally prefer to have surgery
- You have a serious ongoing bowel condition, an active stomach ulcer, or have had certain types of stomach or bowel surgery (such as gastric band or sleeve surgery)
- You are unable to give your own informed consent due to a cognitive condition or for legal reasons
