Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who served in the US military after September 11, 2001, and are currently enrolled at VA San Diego or VA Portland
- People who are able to give their informed consent to participate
- People who are living independently (not in a care facility)
- People who have a confirmed history of mild traumatic brain injury (a head injury that did not cause extended loss of consciousness), as confirmed by a specific assessment tool used by the trial

- People who have a history of moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, meaning they lost consciousness for more than 30 minutes
- People who have a history of macular degeneration (a condition affecting vision) or bipolar disorder, as these conditions are not compatible with the bright light therapy used in this trial
- People who work night shifts or rotating swing shifts
- People who have untreated obstructive sleep apnea, either based on what they report or based on their score on a screening questionnaire
- People who are currently using bright light therapy
- People who have hearing or vision impairments that would prevent them from participating in the trial's assessments or treatments
