  • People with a genetic condition causing very high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia)
  • People with a history of drug abuse
  • People who regularly drink more than 3 alcoholic drinks per day
  • People using supplements or products that the trial investigators consider likely to affect the study results (confirm with trial site)
  • People taking medication to manage blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar levels
  • People who have participated in another medical intervention trial within the past month
  • People with serious health conditions such as epilepsy, asthma, kidney failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), inflammatory bowel disease, auto-inflammatory diseases, or rheumatoid arthritis
  • People with active heart or cardiovascular disease, such as heart failure, or a recent heart attack or stroke
  • People who are unable to have an MRI scan, for example due to a pacemaker, surgical metal implants, metal fragments in the eye, or severe claustrophobia
