Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You are planning to have, or have already had, a full surgical staging procedure at Mayo Clinic, which includes removal of the uterus, both ovaries and fallopian tubes, and an assessment of the lymph nodes
- Before surgery, your biopsy showed either a high-grade (grade 3) uterine cancer of a specific type, OR a different type of uterine cancer that is not the most common kind, OR a lower-grade cancer that appears to have spread beyond the uterus based on imaging scans (such as a CT, MRI, or PET scan)
- After surgery, your results showed certain higher-risk features, such as a specific cancer type, cancer found in blood or lymph vessels, cancer that has grown more than halfway through the uterine wall, small amounts of cancer cells found in a sentinel lymph node, or cancer that has spread to nearby or distant areas (stage II to IV) (confirm with trial site)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- You are willing to provide blood samples for research purposes
- You are willing to provide tissue samples for research purposes
- You are willing to return to the study site for follow-up appointments
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received or are currently receiving chemotherapy before surgery (called neoadjuvant chemotherapy)
- You are pregnant at the time before your surgery
