Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with migraines (with or without "aura," such as visual disturbances before a headache) for at least 1 year, based on recognised medical guidelines
- You have chronic migraine, meaning you have headaches on 15 or more days per month for more than 3 months, with at least 8 of those days involving migraine-type headaches, and this was diagnosed before you turned 65
- You are considered suitable for preventive migraine treatment (medication taken regularly to reduce how often migraines occur)
- You are able to speak and read Danish
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) injections as a migraine prevention treatment in the last 4 months
- You are currently using certain migraine prevention treatments, devices (such as transcranial magnetic stimulation), or nerve block injections within the last 3 months — though some stable medications like antidepressants, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, or anti-epileptic drugs may be allowed (confirm with trial site)
- You have used opioid or barbiturate pain medications in the last 4 weeks
- You have headaches caused by another medical condition, or headaches caused by overusing pain medication
- You have a serious psychiatric condition, serious blood vessel disease, or known liver disease
- You have issues with alcohol or substance misuse
- You are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
