Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are 18 years of age or older
• People who have been diagnosed with episodic migraine according to recognised international diagnostic standards
• People who have experienced between 4 and 14 migraine days per month, on average, over the 3 months before joining the trial
• People whose use of short-term migraine relief medication has remained stable for at least 3 months before joining
• People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have fewer than 4 or 15 or more migraine days per month during the baseline monitoring period
• People who have chronic migraine, meaning 15 or more headache days per month
• People with certain headache conditions involving facial pain and autonomic symptoms, or nerve-related head pain conditions (confirm with trial site)
• People whose headaches are caused by an underlying medical condition
• People who also experience another common headache type, such as tension-type headache, if those headaches occur on average more than 1 day per month and more than 12 days per year
• People whose headaches are thought to be caused by overuse of pain or migraine medications
• People who have recently made changes to their ongoing migraine prevention treatment within 3 months before joining
• People with a history of lung, abdominal, or heart lining disorders, or heart valve disease
• People with severely elevated blood pressure that is not being treated
• People who are currently taking medications that affect dopamine activity in the body (confirm with trial site)
• People who have a psychiatric condition that requires medication to manage
• People who are able to become pregnant and are unwilling to use a reliable method of contraception throughout the study, as assessed by the trial doctor
• People who test positive for pregnancy at the point of being assigned to a treatment group
• People who are currently breastfeeding
• People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to cabergoline or closely related substances
• People who are already taking part in another clinical trial that the trial doctor believes could affect the results or running of this study
• People who, in the trial doctor's judgement, may not be able to understand or follow the study requirements, or who have any condition that may prevent them from completing the study
