Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- Your tuberculosis (TB) has been confirmed by a lab culture or a positive sputum (mucus) test using a specific molecular testing method called GeneXpert
- Scans or images (such as chest X-ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, PET/CT, or bone scan) show signs of TB affecting the lungs, possibly along with other areas of the body
- You either started TB treatment within the last 6 weeks before your study scan, or you are within 6 weeks of completing 6 months of TB treatment (the same patient may be invited back for a scan at the later time point)
- You are willing and able to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part
- You are willing and able to follow the study plan for its full duration, including attending all scheduled visits and procedures
- Your standard blood and lab test results are within normal ranges, or a doctor has confirmed they are not a concern
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test (blood or urine) within 24 hours before receiving the study's imaging drug
- You, or your legal representative, are able to read, understand, and sign the consent forms required to begin the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You do not have suitable veins for the two injection/blood draw sites needed during the study
- You are currently breastfeeding
- You have received a radioactive substance as part of another research study within a recent time period related to how quickly that substance breaks down (confirm with trial site)
- Your total radiation exposure from previous research studies would push you over a set annual safety limit if you joined this trial
- You have any other medical condition that the study doctor feels would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to participate
