Who might be able to join this trial:

• You live in the same household as someone who has recently been diagnosed with a confirmed case of tuberculosis (TB) in their lungs
• You are between 5 and 17 years old (at least 5, but not yet 18)

Who may not be able to join:

• You show signs of having active TB yourself, based on a physical check-up or imaging (such as a chest X-ray)
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have a weakened immune system (for example, due to a medical condition or medication that affects your body's ability to fight infection)
• You have a known allergy or medical reason why you cannot take the medications isoniazid or rifapentine
• You have a long-term liver condition or a problem with alcohol use
• You have previously been treated for either active TB or a latent (inactive/sleeping) TB infection
• You have previously had a tuberculin skin test (a common test used to check for TB exposure)
• The person in your household who has TB has a type that is known or suspected to be resistant to standard TB drugs
• The person in your household who has TB has been living away from home for more than four weeks
• You have already received more than 15 daily doses of TB medication
