Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with cancer of any type or stage
- People who finished surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, or an experimental treatment at least one month before the study begins (people on stable doses of hormone therapy or targeted therapies are not excluded)
- People whose general physical functioning meets a minimum level, measured by a score of 60 or higher on a standard scale doctors use to assess daily activity (confirm with trial site)
- People who have experienced constipation meeting specific medical guidelines (called Rome IV criteria), meaning they have had two or more of the following for at least the past three months, with symptoms starting at least six months before diagnosis:

- A feeling of blockage in the back passage during more than 25% of bowel movements
- Needing to use fingers or physical support to help complete a bowel movement more than 25% of the time

- Loose stools rarely occurring without the use of laxatives
- Symptoms that do not meet the criteria for irritable bowel syndrome
- People who are able to complete all study questionnaires and assessments independently
- People who are able to read, understand, and sign a consent form written in English
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had an allergic reaction to herbal medicines or traditional Chinese medicine
- People whose recent blood tests (within the last two months) show significantly abnormal liver or kidney function at levels specified in the trial criteria (confirm with trial site)
- People who have signs of a bowel blockage, or who are considered at high risk of one by their treating doctor — for example, due to a tumour pressing on abdominal organs, recent abdominal surgery, or previous radiation treatment to the abdomen
- People who have been prescribed certain medications used to treat constipation caused by opioid pain medicines (specifically methylnaltrexone, naloxegol, or naldemedine), where stopping that medication is not an option
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or not using appropriate contraception — appropriate contraception is required for at least 30 days after the last dose of the study treatment
