Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between the ages of 30 and 65 years
- People with a BMI (body mass index) of 40 or higher, which is a measure of body weight relative to height
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes

- People who have rare bone metabolism conditions such as Paget's disease of bone, fibrous dysplasia, or osteopetrosis
- People who have inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis)
- People currently taking certain medications that can affect bone health markers, including bone-building drugs, bone-protecting drugs, some hormone-related medications, blood thinners of a specific type, antipsychotic medications, contraceptives, oral steroids, methotrexate, certain blood pressure medications, or hormone-blocking cancer treatments (confirm full medication list with trial site)
- People who have a condition called hemolytic anemia, where red blood cells are destroyed faster than the body can replace them
