Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 to 70 years
• People with a good general health and activity level, rated 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale used to measure how much a condition affects daily activities (confirm with trial site)
• People who have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of cancer at the back of the nose and throat) confirmed by a tissue sample
• People whose cancer has come back in the original area or nearby and cannot be treated with surgery or radiotherapy, or whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body after standard treatment, or who were first diagnosed with cancer that had already spread — in all cases, where a first round of standard platinum-based chemotherapy (with or without a PD-1 immunotherapy drug) has stopped working
• People who have MRI scan results of the nose, throat, and neck area taken before joining, with at least one measurable area of cancer visible (bone spread does not count for this)
• People willing to provide a stored tumour tissue sample or have a new tissue sample collected to test for a specific protein called PD-L1
• People whose recent blood test results (taken within 7 days before joining) show that blood cell counts, liver function, and kidney function are all within the levels required by the trial
• People who are willing to take part voluntarily and sign a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

• People with a history of another cancer, unless it was a minor skin cancer, a very early-stage cancer, or a cancer that was fully treated and cleared at least 5 years ago
• People who need long-term medication that suppresses the immune system, or who take steroid medicines at doses high enough to affect immune function
• People with immune system conditions or a history of organ transplantation, or related conditions such as lung inflammation, hepatitis, kidney inflammation, or thyroid disorders (confirm with trial site)
• People who are HIV positive, people who carry a hepatitis B surface marker with a detectable level of the hepatitis B virus in their blood, or people who test positive for hepatitis C antibodies
• People who have taken high-dose steroid medicines within the 4 weeks before joining
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people of reproductive age for whom effective contraception is not in place
• People whose blood test results within 7 days before joining fall outside the levels required by the trial
• People with serious problems affecting the heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, or bone marrow
• People with other health conditions that are not well controlled, or who have an active infection
• People currently taking part in another clinical trial or receiving another experimental treatment
• People who are unwilling or unable to sign a written consent form
• People for whom the study treatment would otherwise be medically unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
• People with a psychiatric condition or cognitive impairment that affects their ability to make informed legal decisions
