Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within a certain range (a medical score called ECOG 0–2 — confirm with trial site what this means for a specific situation)
- People who are willing and able to give informed consent to take part
- People who have metastatic melanoma (melanoma that has spread to other parts of the body) confirmed by scans and clinical assessment
- People who have already received a first course of treatment, either immunotherapy or BRAF inhibitor therapy, for their melanoma
- People who have no more than ten sites in the body (outside the brain) where the cancer is actively growing or progressing, counting both the original tumour and any spread sites
- People who have had previous radiation therapy near or overlapping with the areas of progression may still be considered
- People where all sites of progression can be safely treated with a targeted form of radiation therapy called SBRT or hypofractionated radiotherapy (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with more than ten sites outside the brain where the cancer is actively progressing
- People who are pregnant
- People whose cancer has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord (a condition called leptomeningeal disease)
- People with serious medical conditions that would make radiation therapy unsafe, such as ataxia-telangiectasia or scleroderma
- People who have had previous radiation therapy so close to the affected areas that further radiation would risk exceeding safe limits for nearby healthy tissue
- People with psychological, social, or geographical circumstances that may make it difficult to follow the trial requirements
- People whom the trial investigator considers unsuitable for participation for any other medical reason
