Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are male or female, of any racial background
- You are able to read, understand, and sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- You are either a healthy volunteer, or you have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) using a specific standard set of diagnostic guidelines
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had an allergic reaction to the imaging agent used in this study (called [18F]FZTA) or any of its ingredients
- You have a medical reason why you cannot safely have a PET scan, CT scan, or MRI scan — for example, certain implanted electronic devices or being unable to lie still for a long period of time
- You experience severe claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are currently receiving radiation therapy as part of a treatment
- You have a serious health condition that, in the study doctor's judgment, could put you at risk, make it hard for you to complete the study procedures, or affect the quality of the data collected — for example, kidney failure, liver failure, or advanced cancer (confirm with trial site)
- In the past 6 months, you have had a significant heart or cardiovascular problem, such as a heart attack, stroke, certain heart rhythm problems, unstable chest pain, a mini-stroke, or serious heart failure — or these issues were found during a heart screening test (ECG)
- In the past 12 months, you have taken part in other research studies involving radioactive substances, and the combined radiation exposure would exceed the legal yearly limit set by U.S. federal regulations
