Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a solid cancer (confirmed by biopsy) that has spread to the brain, with at least one brain tumor that shows up on a scan or has been confirmed by biopsy, AND that tumor meets at least one of these conditions:
- It has been growing by at least 1.0mm per week on average, based on your two most recent brain scans before joining the study
- It is very close to (within 1.0cm of) an area of swelling in the brain
- It is near (within 5.0cm of) a surgical site from a brain operation performed within the last 30 days
- It is near (within 5.0cm of) another area causing physical pressure or displacement in the brain (confirm with trial site)
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are well enough to carry out some daily activities, as measured by a standard health performance score (Karnofsky score of 60 or above — confirm with trial site)
- Your doctor estimates you are expected to live at least 3 to 6 months
- You are able to understand and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to have a brain MRI scan for any reason
- You are unable to receive a contrast dye called gadolinium, which is used during MRI scans
- You have end-stage kidney disease (confirm with trial site)
- You have advanced cancer that has spread widely across the lining of the brain and spinal cord
- You are currently pregnant, as the contrast dye used may be harmful to an unborn baby
- You are currently breastfeeding, due to unknown but possible risks to a nursing infant
