Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 70 years old (inclusive), either male or female
• Your body weight falls within a healthy-to-obese range (BMI between 18 and 40)
• You have been diagnosed with gout (a type of arthritis caused by uric acid crystals in the joints)
• You have had 2 or more gout flare-ups (sudden painful attacks) in the past 12 months
• You have had at least one acute gout flare-up within the past 6 months
• If you are already taking medication to lower uric acid levels (such as allopurinol or febuxostat), you must have been on a stable, unchanged dose before joining and must stay on that same dose throughout the study
• You are willing to keep your diet and exercise habits the same throughout the study

Who may not be able to join:

• You have taken steroid tablets (such as prednisone at 10mg or more) or strong pain medicines (narcotics) in the 24 hours before starting the study drug, or received steroid injections (into a muscle, vein, or joint) within the past 14 days
• You have recently used anti-inflammatory pain medicines (NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen) before starting the study drug, based on the doctor's judgement
• You have taken colchicine or a specific drug called ABP-745 within the past 14 days
• You have taken part in another clinical trial or used an experimental drug within the past month
• You have recently used certain specialised medicines including pegloticase, methotrexate, or certain immune-system-targeting biological drugs within the past 30 days (or longer, depending on the drug)
• You have taken muscle relaxants, stimulants, barbiturates, or similar medicines within the past 30 days (or longer, depending on the drug)
• Your gout was caused by something else, such as chemotherapy or an organ transplant
• You have been diagnosed with certain other joint or inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, joint infection, lupus, multiple sclerosis, or gout affecting 4 or more joints at the same time, among others (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently on blood-thinning medication, have a low platelet count, or have a condition that increases your risk of bleeding (such as haemophilia)
• You have been diagnosed with cancer in the past 5 years (some minor skin cancers may be exceptions — confirm with trial site)
• You have poorly controlled high blood pressure, severe heart failure, or poorly controlled diabetes (confirm with trial site)
• You are a woman who could become pregnant (confirm with trial site for exact definition)
• You have had no pain, or only mild pain, from your gout before starting the study drug
• You are currently taking any medicines to prevent gout flare-ups (such as colchicine, NSAIDs, or steroids) at the time you would join the study
• You have received a COVID-19 vaccine within the 4 weeks before joining the study
