Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women who have gone through menopause (at least 1 year without a period) and have abnormal uterine bleeding, where either the uterine lining measures more than 3mm on an internal ultrasound scan, OR the lining measures 3mm or less but the woman also has at least one of the following: more than one episode of unexpected bleeding, an uneven or patchy appearance of the uterine lining on ultrasound, or certain risk factors such as a BMI of 30 or above, current use of tamoxifen or hormone replacement therapy, or a diagnosis of Lynch syndrome or a BRCA gene mutation.
- People who have given written consent to take part in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- Women who currently have an active infection in the pelvic area.
- Women who have a current active or latent viral infection such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV — though women who had Hepatitis C in the past and have been successfully treated, with no sign of the virus being active in the last year, would not be excluded on this basis.
