Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 14 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome, either through clinical assessment or genetic testing
- People who have VHL-related tumours that can be measured or that have been growing, as shown by specific imaging scans
- People who are reasonably able to carry out daily activities (based on a standard health scale used by doctors, rated 0–2 out of 5)
- People whose blood, liver, and kidney results fall within acceptable ranges as determined by laboratory tests
- People who are able to swallow tablets or capsules taken by mouth
- People who are able to provide written consent to participate before the trial begins
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 14 years of age
- People who do not have a confirmed diagnosis of VHL syndrome
- People who have had another type of cancer (outside of VHL-related tumours) in the past 3 years — though certain skin cancers or cancers considered fully treated for more than 2 years may be exceptions (confirm with trial site)
- People who have had a known allergic reaction to the study drug, belzutifan, or any of its ingredients
- People with a history of serious or poorly controlled heart conditions, such as a heart attack in the past 6 months, unstable chest pain, heart failure requiring treatment, or uncontrolled high blood pressure
- People with active infections including HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
- People whose immune system is significantly weakened, either due to a medical condition or current medication
- People with a history of significant bleeding problems, including conditions affecting blood clotting or low platelet counts
- People who have received radiation therapy within the 4 weeks before joining the trial
- People who have had major surgery within the 4 weeks before joining the trial, or who urgently need surgery to manage a tumour
- People who have difficulty absorbing medications properly due to previous gut surgery or an active digestive condition
- People currently taking other medications that are known to significantly affect how belzutifan works in the body
- People who are unlikely to take the study medication consistently or who plan to stop taking it during the trial
