Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), confirmed by a muscle biopsy or genetic test
  • A special heart scan (called a cardiac MRI) has shown specific changes in your heart tissue (known as late gadolinium enhancement)
  • Your heart's pumping ability is either normal or only mildly reduced (confirmed by heart scan)
  • You are between 8 and 18 years old

  • You are currently experiencing symptoms of heart failure (such as severe breathlessness or swelling)
  • You have previously had a serious reaction to a type of diabetes medication called SGLT2 inhibitors, or a dangerous condition called ketoacidosis linked to this type of medication
  • You have Type 1 diabetes
  • You have kidney disease, or you have a history of frequent urinary tract infections or skin infections in the genital area
