Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer (a type of lung cancer), confirmed through a tissue sample test
- People who have had a brain MRI scan within the past 4 weeks showing no signs of cancer spread to the brain or its surrounding membranes
- People with no past history of cancer spreading to the brain or its surrounding membranes
- People who have declined a type of brain radiation treatment called PCI (prophylactic cranial irradiation) and are willing to have regular brain MRI scans to monitor for any changes instead
- People aged 18 or older
- People with a general health and activity level rated between 0 and 2 on a standard medical scale, meaning they are able to care for themselves and carry out daily activities, even if they cannot do heavy physical work (confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to tolerate a specialised type of MRI scanner called a 7T MRI
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have metal implants, pacemakers, or other metal objects in their body that make MRI scanning unsafe
- People who cannot receive a gadolinium contrast dye, which is a special liquid used during some MRI scans to make images clearer
- People who currently have other cancers that have spread and are receiving active treatment
- People who are pregnant
