Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 to 75 years old (either end of this range included), of any gender
• People who have been diagnosed through pathology testing with non-small cell lung cancer that has either spread to nearby areas and cannot be surgically removed, or has spread to other parts of the body
• People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities is rated at 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale (meaning fully active or able to carry out light activities)
• People whose doctors expect them to live for at least 12 weeks
• People whose liver, kidneys, and other organs are functioning at a good level
• People who are willing to take part and have signed a consent form agreeing to join the study

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have difficulty swallowing, a condition affecting how the body absorbs food, or uncontrolled digestive problems such as ongoing nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting, or who have had stomach removal or gastric banding surgery
• People whose cancer has spread to the brain or spinal cord and is currently causing symptoms
• People who have had or currently have another type of cancer
• People with spinal cord compression that cannot be treated with surgery or radiation
• People who have cancer-related pain that is not well controlled
• People who are planning to receive any other cancer treatment during the trial
• People who have received other cancer treatments within the 4 weeks before starting the trial
• People who have had major surgery (other than a biopsy or diagnostic procedure) within 28 days before starting the trial
• People who are currently in another clinical trial, or whose last clinical trial ended less than 4 weeks before the start of this one
• People who have moderate to severe fluid build-up around the lungs that is causing symptoms
• People who have had an active tuberculosis infection within the past year
• People who have had a severe infection in the 30 days before starting the trial
• People who have received a live attenuated vaccine (a certain type of vaccine) within the 30 days before starting the trial
• People with a history of a weakened immune system
• People with poorly controlled or severe heart or blood vessel disease
• People with a history of a type of lung inflammation (interstitial or non-infectious pneumonia) that required treatment with steroids
• People who still have side effects from previous cancer treatments that have not recovered to a mild level or below (confirm with trial site)
• People with untreated active hepatitis
• People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study
• People with other serious physical or mental health conditions, or significant abnormalities in laboratory test results
