Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 years or older, of any gender.
  • People who have been diagnosed within the past 2 years with a specific type of bladder cancer called high-risk or very high-risk non-muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma (a cancer that has not grown into the deeper muscle layers of the bladder and has not spread to other parts of the body), confirmed through laboratory testing of tissue samples, following a specific set of medical guidelines (EAU 2025). This also includes cases where this type of cancer makes up more than half of what was found in the tissue sample.
  • People who, before joining the trial, have already had one of the following procedures: either a second surgical procedure to remove bladder tumour tissue (called a re-TURBT), or a complete initial removal of the bladder tumour where tissue samples — including the deep muscle layer of the bladder — showed no remaining cancer, all tested margins came back clear, and a urine test taken two weeks after surgery also came back clear.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with cancer in the upper parts of the urinary tract (such as the ureter or the kidney's drainage system) within the past 5 years, or who currently have that type of cancer at the same time as their bladder diagnosis.
