Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman between 18 and 60 years old with a type of multiple sclerosis called relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), and your disability level is at or below a certain threshold (confirm with trial site)
- You have been on a stable MS medication for at least 3 months before joining the trial
- You have at least 3 of the following bladder problems: sudden strong urges to urinate, going to the toilet more than 10 times during the day, waking up more than once a night to urinate, dribbling after urinating, leaking urine, or having difficulty starting to urinate
- You are willing and able to follow the study instructions, carry out the required activities, and complete the necessary paperwork
- You are able to understand and agree to participate, and you are willing to sign a consent form for both paper and electronic data use
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had an MS relapse in the last 3 months
- You are planning to change your MS medication during the study
- You currently need to use a catheter to empty your bladder regularly (more than twice a week)
- An ultrasound has shown that your bladder is not emptying properly after you urinate (confirm with trial site)
- You have a current or past history of bladder cancer
- You have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator
- Your bladder problems are caused by other physical conditions, such as stress incontinence or a prolapsed bladder
- You have had a spinal injury in the past 5 years, any other nervous system condition (such as stroke or Parkinson's disease), or surgery on your pelvis, spine, or bladder
- You have or recently had a urinary tract infection (within the past 4 weeks)
- You have had kidney stones or a urinary/genital tumour in the past 6 months
- You have previously had a specific nerve stimulation treatment, acupuncture, or acupressure in the ankle area within the past 3 months (confirm with trial site)
- You have been doing regular pelvic floor exercises (more than twice a week) in the past 6 weeks, or you plan to do so during the study
- You are planning to take part in another clinical trial at the same time
- You have open wounds, swelling, or fluid build-up in your lower leg that could interfere with the treatment
- You have another serious health condition, such as active cancer, heart failure, or epilepsy, that could make participation unsafe
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 30 (a common measure of body weight relative to height)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
