Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 years or older, of any gender.
  • People who have been diagnosed through laboratory testing with a type of bladder tumor that has not grown into the muscle wall of the bladder and has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • People whose bladder tumor has been confirmed as a specific cell type called urothelial carcinoma, either entirely or as the main component making up more than half of the tumor.
  • People who meet at least one of the following conditions: the first surgical removal of the bladder tumor was incomplete or possibly incomplete; the tissue sample from the first surgery did not include a specific layer of bladder tissue called the detrusor muscle (except in certain low-risk cases — confirm with trial site); or the tumor was classified at a stage called T1 (confirm with trial site for what this means in context).
  • People who are willing to provide a urine sample of 50 mL between 2 and 6 weeks after the first bladder surgery and before a second surgery.
  • People who are willing to provide tumor tissue samples for laboratory examination.
  • People who are willing to undergo genetic testing as required by the trial.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People for whom the standard bladder tumor removal surgery (called TURBT) is medically unsuitable or unsafe.
  • People who also have a cancer affecting the upper part of the urinary tract, such as the ureter or the part of the kidney that connects to the ureter.
