Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with vitiligo, confirmed using the 2021 Vitiligo Diagnosis and Treatment Consensus guidelines
- Your vitiligo has been stable (not spreading) — for at least 6 months if you have segmental or unclassified vitiligo, or at least 1 year if you have non-segmental vitiligo, and it has not responded well to medication or light therapy
- The vitiligo affects at least 5% of your body surface area (roughly the size of one hand or more)
- You are willing to sign a consent form and agree to have a surgical procedure as part of the trial
- You are between 8 and 65 years old (any gender)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a serious illness affecting your internal organs, or an active infection, that makes surgery unsafe for you
- You have a history of developing thick, raised, or overgrown scars (sometimes called keloid scars)
- You have a blood clotting problem or disorder that affects how your blood clots
- You are unable to attend follow-up appointments at the required times
