Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 or older.
  • People who have been diagnosed through a tissue biopsy with high-risk bladder cancer that has not grown into the muscle wall, where the main cancer cell type is urothelial carcinoma (making up more than half of the sample).
  • People whose bladder tumours have been fully removed during a surgical procedure called TURBT, with that procedure having taken place within the 12 weeks before joining the trial.
  • People whose cancer tissue shows a protein called HER2, confirmed by a laboratory test at a local pathology department.
  • People who are unwilling to have their bladder surgically removed, or for whom that operation is not considered suitable.
  • People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within an acceptable range, as measured by a standard medical scale (confirm with trial site).
  • People who have signed a form confirming they understand and agree to take part.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose cancer has grown into the bladder muscle, spread to nearby tissues, or spread to other parts of the body, or who have bladder cancer that has also spread outside the bladder but not into the muscle.
  • People whose bladder cancer is made up entirely of certain other cancer cell types, such as small cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or squamous carcinoma in situ.
  • People who have previously had cancer in the upper urinary tract, unless there has been no recurrence for at least 2 years after treatment for that cancer.
  • People who have previously been treated with any drug that specifically targets the HER2 protein.
  • People who have had a major surgical procedure within 2 weeks before joining the trial.
  • People who have any other health condition that the trial doctor considers would make participation unsuitable.
