Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Men, or women who are not pregnant and not breastfeeding, between 18 and 55 years old
  • People with a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) between 25.0 and 35.0, and who weigh at least 50 kg

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with a history of any significant illness or health condition
  • People with a history of, or current significant problems with the heart, kidneys, liver, skin, lungs, nervous system, mental health, or digestive system, including a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) or gallstones
  • People who have had a significant illness, medical procedure, or surgery in the 4 weeks before the first planned dose
  • People with abnormal blood chemistry, blood cell counts, clotting, or urine test results that are considered clinically significant
  • People with abnormal readings for vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, or temperature that are considered clinically significant
  • People with abnormal results on a heart tracing test (ECG) that are considered clinically significant
  • People with a blood sugar marker (HbA1c) at or above 6.5%, which can indicate diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • People who show signs of reduced kidney function
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who have taken a medication containing an amylin analogue (a type of hormone-related drug) within the last 30 days, or within 5 half-lives of that drug — whichever is the longer period (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have previously received the study drug AZD6234
  • People who are currently taking any prescribed or non-prescribed medications
