Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who currently have a confirmed diagnosis of high-grade non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (a type of bladder cancer that has not grown into the bladder muscle), at a stage classified as Tis, Ta, or T1, based on laboratory analysis of tissue samples
- People whose tissue sample shows that more than half of the cancer cells are of a specific type called urothelial carcinoma
- People with a past confirmed diagnosis of high-grade non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer at the same stages listed above
- People who, within the last 12 months, have received at least one treatment for this type of bladder cancer — either a liquid medication placed directly into the bladder, or a treatment given through the bloodstream
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose tissue samples (past or current) show certain rare cancer cell types known as plasmacytoid or small cell (neuroendocrine) components
- People who have previously had their bladder surgically removed or received radiation therapy for bladder cancer
- People with a history of bladder cancer that had grown into the bladder muscle, or that had spread to other parts of the body
- People who currently have, or have untreated, urothelial carcinoma in other parts of the urinary tract outside the bladder (such as the ureters or kidney — note: if such a cancer was treated more than two years ago, this may not apply; confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently incarcerated or in police custody at the time of screening (people wearing a monitoring device may still be considered)
- People for whom bladder removal surgery would be medically unsafe due to serious health conditions (confirm with trial site)
- People who cannot tolerate any form of bladder cancer treatment — either directly into the bladder or through the bloodstream
- People who are unable to provide written consent in English
- People who cannot be contacted to complete research surveys
- People who are planning to take part in another clinical trial where treatment details will be kept confidential and unavailable to researchers
