Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with a type of bladder cancer called urothelial carcinoma, confirmed by a pathology test, including types that have or have not grown into the bladder muscle, as well as certain variant forms
- People who have decided, after discussion with a specialist cancer surgeon, to have their bladder surgically removed along with nearby lymph nodes in the pelvis
Who may not be able to join:
- People having bladder removal surgery for non-cancer reasons, such as chronic bladder pain, abnormal connections between organs (fistulas), or severe urinary problems
- People having bladder removal surgery because a cancer from another organ (such as the rectum, colon, or uterus) has spread or extended into the bladder
- People whose cancer has spread so extensively in the pelvis that a larger operation to remove multiple pelvic organs would be required
- People who have pre-existing heart, kidney, or liver problems that would prevent them from safely receiving a particular type of fluid therapy at home (confirm with trial site)
- People who are unwilling or unable to take part in follow-up phone calls at 30 and 90 days after their procedure
