Patient Eligibility

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with breast, prostate, colorectal, thyroid, cervical, uterine, or lung cancer (solid tumour), confirmed by a pathology report, either as a new or existing diagnosis
  • People whose cancer is at stage III or IV
  • People who are currently receiving outpatient care at INCan (Instituto Nacional de Cancerología)
  • People aged 18 or older
  • People who are able to read and communicate in Spanish
  • People who agree to have sessions audio-recorded

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have received psychological or psychiatric care at INCan within the last 3 months
  • People who have received psychological or psychiatric care outside of INCan within the last 3 months
  • People who have been diagnosed with a serious psychiatric condition
  • People whose treating doctor or study staff determines that a cognitive condition (such as delirium or dementia) would prevent meaningful participation or the ability to give informed consent
  • People identified as having suicide risk based on a standardised assessment called the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale
  • People who feel too unwell to participate due to communication difficulties, uncontrolled pain, or other symptoms that would prevent involvement
