Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 75 years old (both men and women are welcome)
- You have been diagnosed with advanced or spreading non-small cell lung cancer that has either stopped responding to standard treatments or that you are unable to tolerate
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a specific level of functioning (rated 0 or 1 on a standard scale — confirm with trial site if unsure)
- Doctors expect you to live for at least 12 weeks

Who may not be able to join:
- You have cancer that has spread to the brain or spinal cord that has not been treated, or is currently active, or has spread to the membranes surrounding the brain or spinal cord
- You have had a serious infection or a major surgical operation in the past 4 weeks
- You have had, or currently have, another type of cancer (separate from the lung cancer being studied)
- You have ongoing nausea, vomiting, or other digestive/stomach problems that would make it hard for you to take oral (by mouth) medication
- You had a major surgical procedure (other than a diagnostic procedure or biopsy) within 28 days before starting the trial, or a minor surgical procedure involving injury or wounds within 7 days before starting the trial
