  • People who are scheduled to have a total robotic hysterectomy (removal of the uterus using robotic-assisted surgery), with or without removal of the ovaries or fallopian tubes, at one of the three participating hospitals

  • People of any body weight or uterus size are considered

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who will be alone at home on the first night after surgery, with no one to stay with them
  • People who have been assessed by their doctor as having a serious underlying health condition (classified as ASA class 3), unless that rating is solely due to high body weight
  • People who are also having prolapse surgery (surgery to correct dropped pelvic organs) or lymph node removal at the same time
  • People with severe endometriosis (a condition where tissue similar to the uterus lining grows outside it) or people who have ongoing chronic pain and already follow a special pain management plan after surgery
