Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to give written agreement to participate before any assessments are carried out.
- For Part A (healthy volunteers): Men and women who are in good general health, confirmed through medical history, physical check-up, vital signs, heart tracing (ECG), and blood tests showing results within the normal range.
- For Parts B and C (kidney disease): Men and women between 18 and 65 years of age.
Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are able to become pregnant.
- Sexually active men who are unwilling to use contraception.
- For Part A (healthy volunteers): People with a significantly abnormal blood pressure reading (too high or too low) at screening.
- For Part A (healthy volunteers): People with an abnormal resting heart rate (either too slow or too fast) at screening.
- For Parts B and C (kidney disease): People who have, or have had, serious illnesses such as most cancers, severe heart failure, certain heart rhythm problems (such as atrial fibrillation or a permanent pacemaker), kidney disease caused by an autoimmune condition, a previous kidney transplant, or current dialysis treatment — or any other condition the trial doctor considers a concern.
- For Parts B and C (kidney disease): People with a clinically significant problem with certain heart valves, as identified by an ultrasound of the heart.
- For Parts B and C (kidney disease): People with a history of heart attack, stroke, certain heart bypass or artery procedures, or a mini-stroke (TIA).
