Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a solid tumour (confirmed by tissue sample, cell sample, or imaging) that has spread to the brain
- People who are older than 18 years of age
- People who are well enough to carry out most daily activities, as measured by a standard medical scale called the Karnofsky Performance Status, with a score of 70 or above (confirm with trial site)
- People who have an estimated life expectancy of at least 3 months
- People whose treating doctor considers them a suitable candidate for whole brain radiation therapy (a type of radiation treatment targeting the entire brain)
- People who speak English as their primary language and are able to understand and sign a written consent form in English
- People who have at least 10 brain metastases (areas where cancer has spread in the brain), or who are otherwise considered suitable for whole brain radiation therapy by their treating doctor
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received whole brain radiation therapy
- People who have Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or a mental disability
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan
- People whose cancer has spread into certain specific brain structures involved in memory and cognition, including the hippocampus, amygdala, fornix, corpus callosum, or pituitary gland (confirm with trial site)
