Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older, of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease (stages 3 to 5) that is not being treated with dialysis, and who also have heart failure with a weakened heart pump (where the heart is pumping at less than 40% of its normal capacity)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently receiving hemodialysis (a kidney treatment that filters the blood through a machine)
- People who have previously had a bad reaction or intolerance to a type of blood pressure medication called ACE inhibitors
- People who have persistently high potassium levels in their blood that are difficult to treat
- People who are pregnant
- People who have previously experienced angioedema (severe swelling, often of the face or throat) caused by ACE inhibitors
- People who are currently taking a medication called sacubitril-valsartan
- People who are currently taking a type of blood pressure medication called an ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker)
- People who have low blood pressure (below 90/60) or who are currently in a state of medical shock
