Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have been diagnosed with Takayasu arteritis (a disease affecting the large blood vessels) based on recognised medical criteria, OR you have been diagnosed with Behçet's disease (a condition causing inflammation in blood vessels and other parts of the body) based on recognised medical criteria, OR you are a healthy person with no history of ongoing or long-term inflammatory or rheumatic conditions (for the healthy comparison group).
- You are willing to take part voluntarily and able to provide written consent.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant.
- You have a psychiatric disorder or are currently receiving psychiatric treatment.
- You have difficulties with memory, thinking, or understanding that could affect your ability to take part (confirm with trial site).
- You have a neurological condition, such as paralysis on one side of the body, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, vertigo, epilepsy, or a similar condition.
- You have had any surgical operation within the past 12 months.
- You have another rheumatic or long-term inflammatory condition in addition to Takayasu arteritis or Behçet's disease (applies to the patient groups only).
