Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher, OR a BMI of 27 or higher combined with a prior diagnosis of at least one of the following: high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol or fat levels in the blood, obstructive sleep apnea (where breathing repeatedly stops during sleep), or heart/blood vessel disease.
  • People who have tried at least once in the past 6 months to lose weight through diet and exercise without success (based on self-report).

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with diabetes, or have a history of diabetes.
  • People who started certain medications within the 3 months before screening that are known to cause significant weight gain, such as some antidepressants, antipsychotics, or mood stabilisers.
  • People whose weight has changed by more than 5% in the 3 months before screening (based on self-report).
  • People with a personal or family history of a condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2, or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid cancer.
  • People with uncontrolled high blood pressure or unstable heart or blood vessel disease.
  • People with a history of inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), whether long-term or short-term.
  • People with a known significant problem with how their stomach empties food, or who regularly take medications that affect how the digestive system moves food through the body.
  • People with a history of a suicide attempt.
  • People with a significant active or unstable diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder or another severe psychiatric condition.
  • People who have been treated with certain weight- or blood sugar-related medications — including semaglutide, tirzepatide, or similar drug types — within the 3 months before screening.
