Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- Adults (men or women) aged 18 or older
- People who have a cancerous tumour located in the mouth, throat (back of mouth or lower throat), voice box, sinuses, or salivary glands, where the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body and can be treated with surgery (lymph node involvement does not affect eligibility)
- People who are enrolled in or covered by a social security (health insurance) plan
Who may not be able to join:
- People with severe liver failure (classified as Child-Pugh grade C)
- People who are under a legal guardianship or protection order
- People who are currently held in custody or have restricted freedom
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have had an allergic reaction to the imaging substance used in this trial (called 18F-FDG) or any of its ingredients (ethanol or water for injection)
- People with uncontrolled diabetes (blood sugar that is not well managed)
- People with moderate to severe kidney disease, where the kidneys are not filtering blood effectively enough (a specific kidney function measurement below 44 mL/min/1.73 m²)
- People who, for any reason — such as language barriers, psychological difficulties, or distance from the trial site — are unable to fully understand the study or follow the trial's requirements
