Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with differentiated thyroid cancer (specifically papillary or follicular type) and have had their entire thyroid surgically removed
- People whose cancer cannot be fully removed by surgery, has come back, or has spread to other parts of the body, and whose doctors have determined that standard treatments are no longer working or cannot be tolerated (this applies to one part of the trial)
- People whose cancer cannot be fully removed by surgery, has come back, or has spread, and who have not yet received radioactive iodine treatment (this applies to another part of the trial)
- People who have at least one tumour that can be measured on a scan
- People whose general health is reasonably stable, rated on a standard medical scale as being fully active, restricted in strenuous activity, or capable of self-care but not active work (confirm with trial site for exact definition)
- People who are expected to live for at least 6 more months based on their current health
Who may not be able to join:
- People who wish to preserve their fertility
- People who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or breastfeeding, or people (or their partners) who are unable to agree to use appropriate contraception during the trial
- People who currently have more than one active cancer, or who have had a separate cancer within the last 3 years
- People who have an active infection that is not under control
- People who test positive for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV
