Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been prescribed liraglutide, semaglutide, tirzepatide, or a newer FDA-approved long-term obesity medication for weight management by a primary care provider at Rush University System for Health, and who have already taken at least one dose of that medication at the time of joining the study
- People who are willing to stop taking their prescribed obesity medication as part of the study's next phase
- People aged 18 or older
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not fluent in English
- People who have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes
- People who are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- People who have had weight loss (bariatric) surgery in the past 2 years, or who are planning to have it
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 60 or above, due to a higher risk of injury during exercise
- People who weigh 375 pounds or more
- People who do not have access to home Wi-Fi or a smartphone with a data plan
- People with certain health conditions that make treatment unsuitable, such as significant memory or thinking problems, active substance use concerns (based on a standard screening tool), or serious illnesses such as advanced heart failure, cancer, or kidney failure
- People who are already taking part in another structured behavioural weight loss programme (this applies to the second phase of the study only)
- People whose obesity medication was obtained through an online or compounding pharmacy, or was prescribed by a specialist clinic rather than a primary care team at the time of joining
- People who live in the same household as someone already enrolled in this study
